Are you ready to jump into the cool pool of water sports? Whether you love to snorkel, boat, or water ski, literally any type of water activity requires safety precautions and a good understanding of possible dangers. This coming summer, let’s ensure that everyone in your family knows just how to stay safe while having fun in the sun and water. Drowning is said to be the leading cause of death in kids ages 1 to 4 years and this is a sad fact. Whether you decide to go to a public pool, lake, or beach, please ensure that you always practice correct water safety.
BOATING, KAYAKING, AND CANOEING
It is a true fact that several Americans engage in adventurous boating and kayaking each year. Before you allow the fun to fall overboard, please look over these safety tips for your own well being:
1.Try to avoid boating in acclimate weather climates; simply turn around right away if you ever notice strong winds, a drop in temperature, or harsh storm clouds.
2. Please always wear a life jacket when kayaking or boating. The greatest number of boating and kayaking deaths occur due to drowning, as many victims refuse to utilize a life vest on their boating ventures.
3. Take a Boating Safety course and avoid drinking any alcohol. Obey all warning signs and try not to operate a boat or kayak in restricted areas. Remember, canoeing or kayaking can sometimes be dangerous if you try to paddle on a river or ocean that is too difficult for your skill expertise. If your canoe or boat tips over, please do not panic. Simply stay right behind it and position it toward the shoreline until you are able to reach the land safely.
Safety first is something we should all take seriously whether it means using a life jacket, avoiding bad weather, or obeying warning signs. This is part of job when it comes to canoeing and kayaking.
